Three Reasons Why New Rims Are a Great Upgrade
The top three reasons to replace your stock rims with some aftermarket ones of your choice.
- Your stock wheels are ugly. If this is true, and usually it is, getting new wheels will solve your problem. Not only are many OEM wheel styles very ugly, they are more often than not very forgettable. The best styles of rims are either reserved for very high end cars or are found in places other than the dealership. The great thing about aftermarket wheels is that you can choose the exact look that you want for your car or truck . From giant 26 inch chrome spinners to tiny 13 inch wire rims and everything in between, outfitting your car with the rims that you like is one way to rid yourself of those ugly looking wheels.
- Your stock wheels are not the size you want. Like I mentioned above, if you want bigger or smaller rims, the aftermarket is the place to go. Not only will you be able to choose the size you want, but the finish as well. Say you own a big SUV and want it to get heads turning no matter where you go. To accomplish this, you might turn to some big chrome rims that will add more bling to your ride. Of course, many people only want to upgrade a size or two just to fill out the wheel wells that little bit more. Most people choose to upgrade from the 15 or 16 inch wheels they have to something like a 17 or an 18. Not only is this easy to do, but with the correct tire sizing on the wheel, your speedometer won't be off more than one mile per hour in most cases. For those looking to upgrade to 17s or 18s there are many thousands of options available on the Internet. Plus, these sizes of wheels are fairly common and usually don't cost as much as the really big wheels. Then again, it all depends on the manufacturer of the wheels in question.
- You just want a spare set of rims. This reasoning is perfect for those who live in a climate that sees more than one season. For those who get snow regularly, a second set of wheels is the perfect addition as you can have one set of wheels for the summer and one dedicated for the winter. This goes for the tyres.shtml>tyres.shtml> tires that you have on them as well. Usually the larger wheels and tyres.shtml>tyres.shtml> tires are used for the summer while the smaller, stock wheels and snow tyres.shtml>tyres.shtml> tires are reserved for when the weather turns foul. This is also a great idea if you take your vehicle to the track or off road as your second set of wheels can wear the performance tyres.shtml>tyres.shtml> tires that you need to really beat down the competition.

Having some aftermarket wheels is a great idea for many reasons and these are just the top three that I came up with. Like I said, there are thousands of different styles out there and finding the right one for your vehicle is half the fun. Mounting them couldn't be easier and once they are on your car or truck will take on a whole new look.
